We Celebrate A Legends 40th Birthday Today:: R.I.P Tupac Amaru Shakur

 

Today a remarkable revolutionary, rapper, actor, poet and legend would be 40 years old. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born June 16, 1971. In the mist of celebration no one can shake the surprising confession of his 1994 shooter "Dexter Issac" who was given orders to rob Shakur by hip-hop mogul James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemand. He stated that Rosemand, CEO of Czar Entertainment who manages acts such as Mike Tyson and Sean Kingston, paided him $2,500 plus all the jewelry taken except for one ring that was desired for Rosemand's former girlfriend at the time Cynthia Reid. Tupac was shot 5 times and taken to Manhattans Bellvue Hospital. He checked out 2 hours later shortly after deeming the Notorious "Biggie Smalls" and Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs as culprits and that they indeed knew about the set up.

Rosemand's lawyer Jefferey Litchman claims "the whole forth coming is a lie" told Litchman to the Daily News. "Dexter is not claiming this 17yrs. later to clear his conscious. Hes doing it cause he will tell anybody who will listen, he doesnt want to die in prison. He has kids and wants to work off his sentence. He's can't be trusted". Litchman said  Rosemand is facing charges due to a federal fugitive warrant after prosecutors indicted him on a case that invovles narcotic charges. Rosemand denies allegations of him having anything to do with the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur. He also claims that Issac is a government informer.

Issac,46, told HipHopAll that hes coming forward now to give both Biggie's and Tupac's mother some closure and the fact that Rosemand called him a rat when he's protected him and kept his mouth shut for 13 years now. Dexter Issac is currently serving a life sentence.  " I want to apologize to (Shakurs) family and for the mistake I did for that sucker", Issac said from the Metropolitian Detention Center in Brooklyn. " I am trying to clean it up to give Shakur's and Biggie's mother some closure".

Paul Browne NYPD's top spokeman said, " Detectives plan to interview him."

Tupac was later fatally shot 4 times on a Las Vegas street September 1996 and died six days later in an unsolved murder.

One year later Biggie was killed by an unknown gunman in Los Angeles, California.

Where shall I begin on my love for hip-hop. Seems like only yesterday I was holding a hair brush to mouth spewing Foxy rhymes and bopping back and forth as if I was Kim herself. I grew up in the 90's some debate and say the best era of hip-hop. Indeed besides the 80's the best era for females in  hip-hop. Along with arguing whose better Foxy or Kim I never analyzing and disecting that there is and always has been a male force behind every female mc for the most part. MC Lyte and Queen Latifah held their own but even so they had to adapt to treading water in a male dominated profession. Why is it almost every female mc is a carbon copy of their male counter parts.

Foxy could be matched to that of a female Jay despite her direct link to Nas and the Firm. Kim is a direct sculpture of what Biggie wanted to be brought to life and the hip-hop industry. Non the less lets not forget Nicki.. who sounds like a high pitched Lil Wayne who just happens to have a vagina. Women with in hip-hop fight tooth and nail to own their spot and title with the industry. Not to mention having to argue down rumors and tales of who they had to screw to signed. When will women with in hip hop bring women back to the forefront and with out the co-sign of a man...
